About WaveWalk
Improving and Expanding Your Kayaking Experience

WaveWalk has become a powerhouse of invention and innovation in personal water sports and recreation.  We created a paddle craft that offers more than canoes and kayaks from every aspect, and that anyone can easily sail this small and portable boat while standing and using one hand.
We enable more people to take part in water sports and activities that were previously too uncomfortable, difficult or practically impossible to take part in.
We believe a single personal watercraft should enable its user to practice multiple sports and activities, and we proved we can offer such a product for a moderate price.
Our new boat technology is protected by
US patent #6,871,608

Who needs a new type of kayak, and why?

The short answer is "everybody - for every possible reason"...
People have been going on water for thousands of years during which they have created and developed many ways of doing so, including paddling.
There are hundreds of types of paddling boats in the world, and Native North Americans had dozens of different types of canoes and kayaks.
But all those boats had in common the fact they were made to be utility boats by and for people with skills, capabilities, habits and needs significantly different from those characteristic of modern paddlers.
Modern canoes and kayaks use traditional designs adapted to sports, touring and recreation, but the fact they are not initially conceived to serve as such causes considerable problems and constraints.  This situation affects millions of paddlers and potential paddlers, and requires a new type of boat for paddlesports.

A "revolution" in paddlesports boats doesn't sound very good since we like our boats to be stable and not revolve, and it doesn't seem appropriate to say about a new boat that it is "groundbreaking", or even "all terrain"...
So, what do we believe in and what are we offering?-
WaveWalk wants to deliver the best paddling experience in every dimension:

First of all, we believe stability is the most important feature in a boat since it's the basis for both comfort and performance.
The ancient root of the word stability means standing, and we believe the fun, appeal and success of a sport has a lot to do with the way it makes us use our legs, simply because by nature we are bipedal.

People all over the world, including native North Americans have been paddling, poling and sculling in the standing position whenever possible.  Polynesians have been surfing standing for centuries.  Millions of snowboarders and skiers prefer to go on snow in the upright position rather than use sleds in a seated position, and for every recumbent bicycle there are thousands of regular bikes.
Why? -Because standing is natural and essential to human powered motion, sports and recreation, so sports and activities practiced standing are more fun.

From a different perspective the tremendous success and rapidly increasing popularity of multi-hull sailboats and motorboats prove the hydrodynamic advantages of the multi-hull concept.

We believe that-
  • Paddlers should not have to choose between speed and stability, and they should get both.
  • Paddlers should be able to go on water like they are used to go on land, snow and ice, namely standing.
  • Paddlesports boats should be adapted to paddlers and not vice versa, and a boat should be comfortable and easy to paddle.
  • Paddlers should be able to choose between several paddling positions and not be forced to stay in one position.
  • A kayak should offer its owner multiple uses, and deliver high value through versatility.

And that's what we deliver.

I'd be very interested to know your thoughts on this,
