What's a Good Recreational Kayak?
Recreational kayaks should offer high performance to beginning paddlers in a broad range of environments and applications.
|
|
Stability:
Obviously, in order to be considered fit for recreation a kayak needs
to be very stable for different people in various environments and applications.
Comfort:
It's important for everybody to feel comfortable in the boat since
without comfort there's no fun. Unlike canoes and ordinary kayaks that are
basically ancient utility paddle crafts made from modern materials, the W Kayak is ergonomically
designed especially for present days paddlers and applications.
It's the only boat that offers passengers to change anytime between
four paddling positions, and the only one that both maximizes biomechanical
efficiency and minimizes fatigue. You can paddle a W Kayak for hours
at a time without feeling any of the symptoms associated with kayaking,
such as back pains, leg numbness and sore arms and shoulders.
Your W Kayak doesn't require from you to use straps to attach yourself, or a spray skirt to trap you in like some kayaks do.
Ease of Use:
Anybody can paddle a W Kayak and have fun doing so.
You don't need to spend years practicing difficult paddle strokes or
Eskimo rolling, and you don't need to know how to use a rudder that
complicates your life just because kayaks track poorly. The W Kayak tracks
and maneuvers well without a rudder.
Unlike canoes and kayaks, the W Kayak requires no special maneuvers when
putting in or taking out, and in most cases not even to step
in water.
Versatility:
Recreation means different things for different people in different times -
It means you may want to play with your boat in the surf or let your
kids do it, or it means you want to go on a day's tour, or maybe
fishing on flat water but also at sea, and on some occasions you may
want to paddle in tandem, or go down a fast river.
As a matter of fact, even a fleet of 5-6 canoes and kayaks can't offer you the level of versatility you get from the W Kayak.
Excitement:
It's essential to fun. -A recreational boat
should offer exciting activities, not just monotonous and limited
ones. This is why a real recreational boat should be fast, unlike
most recreational canoes and kayaks, and it should also offer
activities that don't confine you to flat water.
Sailing:
Have you ever tried sailing a canoe or a kayak? Well, don't! ...
And yet, what could be more fun and natural than sailing your small boat?
We are not yet offering a sail rig for the W Kayak, but when we do you'll be
able to outfit your W Kayak with it and easily sail it sitting as well as
standing.
For Children:
All the above considerations are true when children
are concerned as well as others - Children usually have less power than
adults, they don't have good paddling skills, and they tend to get
over-excited, stand in the boat, bend over etc. Therefore, it is
even more important to place kids in a boat that fits both their
capabilities and needs.
Warning: Kids who try the W kayak might refuse to paddle anything else.
NEW: Children W Kayaking
For Parents:
Parents have their own, individual needs and requirements that may include paddling at sea, in tandem or fishing.
Portability:
Trailers and kayak racks are not a friendly solution - You need a boat that can be hoisted on top of a regular car top.
