ADVANTAGES  VS. DISADVANTAGES

Advantages of deck mount rod holders over flush mount rod holders:
1. More storage space available inside the hull tips
2. Better control over the rod's direction and angle
3.
Deck mounted rod holders keep your fishing rod higher above the water - an important fact if you fish in salt water, which is corrosive.
4. Ability to latch the rod in place (RAM-117, RAM-114)

Disadvantages of deck mount rod holders compared to flush mount rod holders:
1. Higher price
2.
Deck mount rod holders are heavier than flush mount rod holders
3. Deck mounted rod holders might catch your lines

You can quickly dismount the RAM rod holder from its mount for easier transportation.

Note: When mounted, the flush mounted rod holders point outwards in diagonal on two axes, and go down 7" into the 14" high of the W fishing kayak hull tip.
